Reflections

4/14/24

Spring really seems to have arrived this past week, or at least it feels that way at the time of this writing. Flowers are starting to bloom, trees are getting buds and blossoms, and the grass is losing it’s Winter color. All good signs of God’s magnificence and love for us!

The forty days of Lent are over; we entered Jerusalem with Jesus, walked with Him through His Passion and Death, and celebrated His triumphant Resurrection in the garden. New life, new growth, and new beginnings are with us as we forge ahead to Jesus’ Ascension and the great Solemnity of Pentecost. Thank you to everyone who made our Holy Week and Easter Sunday Masses so special: the members of our Magnificat Choir and Guadalupe Bell Ringers, our Instrumentalists, our Liturgical Environment Committees (both indoor and outdoor), our Sacristans, Lectors, Altar Servers, Cantors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Ushers, Greeters, and of course our Deacon.

It was so encouraging to see the attendance at these Liturgies – wouldn’t it be great to see the Church packed like that every weekend? And a BIG “Thank You” needs to be extended to all the Priests who have been helping us out with weekend Masses and Funerals and will most likely continue to help us out until a new Pastor is assigned. The Parish Staff feels it is appropriate and overdue to publicly acknowledge them: Fr. Larry Jurcak and Fr. Scott Swinerton from St. Mary’s in Hudson, Fr. Matt Cortnik from Ss. Cosmas and Damian, Fr. James Kulway and Fr. Patricio Aborde, Jr. from St. Barnabas, Fr. Gerald Bednar (Retired), and Fr. Jeff Barnish from St. Mary Seminary. An even BIGGER “Thank You” is given to Fr. Dennis Kristancic who has been helping here at Our Lady of Guadalupe for a while. We are grateful to these fine gentlemen for being here for us!

And most importantly, Thank You to all the Parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe because without you, we wouldn’t exist. Your continued support and patience is most greatly appreciated. Our Staff keeps you and our entire Parish in our daily prayers, especially as we move forward. Please keep us in prayer, as well.

May God bless you!

Sincerely,
Donald Grabowy

OLG Spring 2024 Events

VBS 2024

Send your kids on a splash-tastic adventure!

At Scuba VBS, kids dive into friendship with God! Scuba is filled with awesome Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, and touch! Hands-on science experiments, team-building games, unforgettable Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the standout activities that help faith flow into real life.

(Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and sturdy shoes.)

Plus, we’ll help kids discover how to see evidence of God in everyday life—something we call God Sightings. Get ready to hear that phrase a lot!
