The Life in the Eucharist (LITE) movement is an official ministry of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. It is a worldwide movement comprised of laity, religious, and clergy who commit themselves to empowering Catholics to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the Eucharistic Mystery. Lay teams, in collaboration with religious of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, religious sisters, and diocesan clergy, promote and facilitate the LITE program.
The LITE program was written by Fr. Robert Rousseau, S.S.S. He originally designed Life in the Eucharist as a retreat to present to his brother priests. Slowly it evolved into a Catholic adult education program. He first introduced the seminar at Corpus Christi Parish in Houston, Texas in 1990. Since that time, Fr. Bob has been traveling throughout the five continents, spreading the Light of the Eucharist and forming teams all over the world. Also, the International LITE Congress is held in a different location every two years around the world. The Life in the Eucharist movement is very far reaching and has truly been blessed by the Holy Spirit.
Our Lady of Guadalupe first experience the Life in the Eucharist program in 1996. Interest in the program spawned a desire to form a parish team. After proper training and much prayer, OLG now has the privilege of sharing its love for the Eucharist with others.
The OLG LITE team welcomes and invites Catholics to become involved in the Life in the Eucharist experience. If you feel called to enrich your appreciation of the Eucharist, you are invited to attend the next the Life in the Eucharist program at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The OLG LITE team’s mission is to share their Eucharistic faith with others. This commitment extends beyond OLG to include other parishes, and the OLG LITE team annually hosts a LITE experience at local parishes.
